Beltiug, Roman Catholic church

"The village church dedicated to the Virgin Mary was first mentioned in 1424, and later in 1524 it appears in the will of Judge Drágfi, who left money and land to the church. In the 1910s, the church was transformed and expanded according to the designs of Ernő Foerk, and today, only a part of the medieval building still stands. A large portion of the nave was demolished and replaced by a new nave oriented along the north-south axis. The medieval apse was not torn down, and today serves as a side chapel. The sole surviving medieval window with tracery can be seen from the inside. The medieval church tower is connected in a modified form to the western façade. The church was built between 1482 and 1511. The size of the former church and the remaining tracery indicate that the church had enjoyed aristocratic patronage."
