Agriş, Calvinist church

egri

"The settlement northeast of Satu Mare existed already in the 13th century. The small church, oriented towards east, stands for the most part today in its original form. The nave has a rectangular ground plan and the sanctuary has one bay and terminates on five sides of an octagon. A neo-Gothic tower was built in 1955 in place of the earlier wooden belfry on the western façade of the nave. Uniform Gothic, tracery windows appear on the southern wall of the nave and sanctuary. The sanctuary contains a star vault. The nave and sanctuary were probably built at the same time, in the early 16th century."
